    hi,

I just upgraded my old Windows XP to Windows 7 and guess what ... there is no drivers for my graphics card provided by SONY. On the sony web site we can find the following information:
"dear user, try Vista graphics drivers. They MAY work."- - I might say that this is really professional... so, the vista graphics drivers for my GeForce doesn`t work. :( I receive all the time the BSOD. :(

This is quite a good graphics card so I cannot understand why there is no drivers from Nvidia or Sony... any ideas? Maybe You know where can I find good drivers for my card?
    -----
My laptop is Sony VGN-FE28h with NVidia GeForce Go 7400 with TurboCache supporting 256MB

actually there IS Win7 driver from Nvidia for this card.
try the "notebook" version, although most of the time the "desktop" version works as well...

My system is a 32bit system.
On the nVidia web site there is no drivers for this card (everything what I have downloaded didn't work), the only GeForce Release 179 driver is not supported for the Sony VAIO notebooks.

shiit... actually it worked so much for me... but where did You find these drivers? I tried some offered by nVidia, Sony and some other sources but they didn't match or caused my system to crush when I for example opened a movie...

really guys - great work! Thank You.

    Ps.
I changed the name of the topic a bit so this thread can be easily found.

I have also the Vaio VGN-FE28H Laptop that now works
    with 2GB extrememory DDR2 SO-DIMM PC667 1GB , Corsair P128 SSD and XP/Windows 7 agile & fast
I took the updated Vista-bios/drivers updates from the somewhat hidden official Vaio Support Page:

    VAIO : Sony Europe

    Windows Performance Information:
    CPU: 4,1
    RAM (extrememory DDR2 SO-DIMM PC667 1GB): 4.7
    3d Gaming Graphics: 3.5
Desktop Performance for Windows Aero: 3.6
    HDD(P128 but only SATA1(150MB/sec): 5.9

intel VT bios tweak, 2x2GB Ram, S-Buttons: did not work,

    brightness control works:
    in this order:
Download all sony drivers for Vista
    Instal Vaio event service
    Reboot
    Install Sony DLL Utils
    Reboot
    Install Sony shared Library
    Reboot and it should work

    BildSchirmHelligkeit Vaio Win7
    brightness

Do your brightness controls work? When I installed Win 7 on an old VAIO S560, I tried the 186.91 driver and it worked except for the brightness controls. I had to download the version from laptopvideo2go and hack the .inf to get them to work. Royal pain.
