My friend and I bought our laptops around the same time, but we each had different games in mind. I wanted the nVidia 6800 for the new games coming out. He just wanted to play Day of Defeat and Warcraft 3, which it does.
However, I tried to get him playing the Battlefield 2 demo. I have been playing it for a few days, and of course want a good friend to play with me. Well, I found out that the Sony Vaio FS620P/W he bought from circuitcity has a basic, integrated intel media graphics type of video driver. He has some funding to upgrade his laptop, but isn't sure what he needs. I did some research, and found that some Vaio FS models can be outfitted with a 128mb nVidia Geforce Go 6200 with TurboCache. Sony's website says he needs 512mb ram and a Pentium M, which he has.
My question is, can he put the 6200 in the FS620? Also, would it be able to handle games like Battlefield 2 and World of Warcraft?

If i'm correct you cant change the video card, and geforce6200 will run smoothly (not perfect) the games u mentioned.

Does that mean he's stuck without? -
Yes, because most graphics cards are soldered onto the motherboard. If you replace the motherboard, then you might be able to change but that's not worth the time or the hassle.

Ah, ok. Thank you very much for your help. I guess we can cross that option out.
