    OK to upgrade BIOS to R2085H4?

    Vaio center shows that R2085H4 is avaliable to download for bios upgrade...

    is this something I should do? I know these things are probably worth asking here before so I'm just making sure :)

    FWIW this is a Vaio SA with 8/11 mfg date sticker date under it. Not sure on the BIOS version

    probably the BIOS is R1031H4 if you haven't updated it before. are you using a SATA III SSD?

    I'm not, but down the road, I wanted to upgrade to a SSD.

    Why on earth did they go from SATA III to SATA II?

    if you're not using a SATA III-capable SSD, then i see no reason to downgrade the BIOS, especially given that there is better fan control in newer BIOSes. but hey, it's your computer :D
