I hesitate before deciding to order SZ340 or 240. For me SZ Coreduo T2500 (2.0GHz) is enough. The reason why I want SZ with Merom chips is to run Vista 64-Bit next year when many application softwares 64bit will be available.
So pls give me some advice.
    Thanks

I would wait till Sept 11th for Merom. Why even think about it?

This must be a joke...right? Definately wait for merom imo (i.e. sz340). At the very least the 240 should be cheaper then.

I dont think many softwares 64-bit will be available by 2007. It is too early.

    Neither. Go for the 260.

Thanks But the 260 does't support 64-bit OS that I have been concerned?

OOPS - Sonystyle has the new premium models up NOW:

    http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INT...VAIONotebookComputers_SZSeries&Dept=computers

Doesn't the SZ381 model supposed to have the carbon fiber "weave" pattern on the top lid? I am reading it in the feature section of this model:

    "Peerless Carbon Fiber Casing
The Sony VAIO® SZ Premium SZ381P/X notebook also features a cutting-edge carbon fiber casing. During the molding processes, a gelcoat resin is applied to the carbon fiber casing, exposing the multiple layers of carbon and providing a cool brushed look and crisscross pattern."

    Sounds yummy!

By the way, anybody know the Windows XP installed on SX3xx is 32-Bit or 64-Bit Verion, as Merom supports 64-Bit?
