Since there were too many threads on the same topic, I thought it would be a good idea to start a new official thread on Sony's upcoming series/models.
Here is what we know so far (special thanks to PhilFlow summarizing the information and rahulnirmal for the manual websites):
(add-ons included from additional information acquired)

Here's an overview of all the models coming out this (late) summer. Since all information was scattered around I thought it would be useful to keep track of it here. Prices in euros translate approx. 1:1 in US$.

Sony VAIO VGN-SR Series (Intel Integrated Graphics X4500 or ATI GPU)
A consumer notebook with 13,3" LED backlit 1280*800 screen, ATI Mobility Radeon HD3470 GPU with 128 MB dedicated RAM (with the Intel X4500)

not a bad idea but i think you should bold certain headings to make it easier on the eyes, (like what PhilFlow did)

I've made some parts bold now, to make it easier to read. Thanks for your feedback Pavillion.
All we need now is a Mod like John Ratsey or Gautam to make this thread a Sticky. This seems like a very popular topic.

On the SR, you have a choice of the Ati card or Intel intergrated graphics. And you should mention that the Z has both Nvidia and Intel graphics.

Unfortunately, none of the documentation links work anymore, Sony has
    removed them.

On Sunday, when I looked at the American SonyStyle site and their support section, they had the VGN-FW series listed with the specific American models numbers. Thats where I found the documentations. That has now been removed too. :(

Before, you mentioned that people can still find these manuals on Google's cached pages. If this no longer works, do you know anyone that has downloaded these manuals?
However, I don't think we really need them anymore. I included a link to Notebook Italia's website that summarizes most of the information and includes pictures of the notebooks from the manuals. ;)

    SR European models:
    VGN-SR11M / P8400 3GB 250GB 13.3¨ VHP 1250€
    VGN-SR19XN / P8400 3GB 160GB 13.3¨ WVB 1350€

How come 11M is more expensive, since it have less HDD space? Maybe X stands for fingerprint reader integrated? The SR serie expects to have a less quality housing, not carbon maybe only alu-magnesium ?

It may be more expensive because of varying GPUs or a blu-ray player. In terms of the housing material used, there is a lot of speculation, but we do not know for sure what Sony plans on using.

Sony's S series is like this:

    1. Sxx VN/X (most expensive model in whole range)
    2. Sxx WN/C
    3. Sxx MN/B (cheapest)

HDD size doesn't mean anything. In fact it can only mean slow HDD (maybe 5,400 rpm) while smaller HDD could have 7,200 rpm (of course you can always customize HDD to have bigger one with 7,200 rpm)

I would really like to see SR in carbon (just hope that carbon fibre housing is not reserved only for newcomming Z series)

I have SZ71 vn/x with premium carbon and I can tell you it really does make difference comparing to magnesium housing of FZ series (my prevous one).

    1. SZxxx N/X - Premium Carbon Fiber (you can see the threads!)
    2. SZxxx N/C - Carbon Fiber case
    3. SZxxx N/B - Standard case (in the SZ's case it's Magnesium) and in Black.

The N is for Vista Business, E would mean Vista Home Premium, and U is good old Vista Ultimate

Sorry lads - it was first arranged for 25th June and then rearranged for 15th July - my error. Delays in delivery of the Montevina chips (made worse by the Chinese earthquake!!!) was the reason for the delay.

Given the price point that the SR will be selling at, I think it will have plastic construction like the preceding C series. Hopefully this time though, they will offer the dedicated graphics option in the US (the Go7400 based C was never available in the US, only the GMA 950 option).
