I've found that I still have a use for my old GR300 even though I've got a (much faster) Asus M6Ne now. Sony says the GR series can only accept up to 2x256MB SODIMMs but today I installed 2x512MB for a total of 1GB memory, and it's working fine. I was a bit scared at first because the first time I installed it the system wouldn't power up, but after removing the modules and reseating them a few times it's all working. I guess the contacts have gotten a bit oxidized in the 2-3 years I've owned the machine, and they just needed a bit of cleaning.

Anyone need 2 144pin 256MB PC133 SODIMMs? One is a Crucial/Micron part, 2-2-2, the other is the original Sony part (Samsung, 3-3-3).
