    Hi Guys,

Wondering if you have any suggestions for me.

I have an older game I enjoy playing (Heroes of Might and Magic III if you're curious) on occasion but - for whatever reason - after reinstalling Windows 7 Professional I am unable to play it by taking advantage of the full screen resolution.

Previously, under Windows 7 RTM, the resolution in game would default to stretching the 800X600 (4:3) to the size of the 1366x768 (16:9).

Since I installed the released version of Windows 7, it no longer stretches the image, leaving large black bar either side.

The game has no in-game resolution options. Curiously, when I run the computer on my 16:9 24" inch monitor through HDMI the game does stretch itself.

Additionally, even when I change the desktop resolution to 800x600 stretch the OS to fill the screen either.

All that said, anyone have any suggestions to fix this issue?

Why would you want to stretch the display instead of scaling it? If stretching it, you lose the aspect ratio, and circles become ellipses, people become squat or stretched, and the mouse moves quicker in one cardinal direction than another.
Learn to like the black bars; they are there for a reason: to keep the aspect ratio.
Stretching is only appropriate for games where you can change the field of view (fov), like Quake and similar. HoMM3 isn't such a game.
