OK, I am all ready to order a TZ 250 from Portable one, I emailed Ivan @ P1 and got the info I needed. I just have a one concern before I order the TZ on Monday.

I have read over 50 pages on NBR just about the TZ. The one thing that I am concerned about is the broken/cracked screen. How delicate is the screen?

I have the SZ with premium carbon fiber and the screen does flex but it has held up well.
I am careful but not anal. I usually toss the SZ in my laptop bag (Timbuk 2) and it's good to go. Is the TZ screen more fragile than the SZ led with cf?

I have a SZ780 and the screen is just fine. Have not noticed any flex and am very pleased with it. Also bought it from P1 from Ivan and customer service was second to none. You are in good hands. I did not buy the TZ because it does not have the power of the SZ. If it did, might have purchased it. Good luck!

I have a TZ150. I'm not quite sure how to answer your question of how delicate the screen is, without conducting some sort of dangerous experiment on my beautiful TZ. What I can tell you is that the TZ screen does not flex. I can push on the back of the screen, and no rippling effects are produced on the screen because it simply does not flex. It's razor thin, but the screen feels so high quality and well-built.

I am always shocked whenever I hear someone cracking their TZ screen. That just makes me wonder what exactly they were doing that led to them breaking the screen of a $2000+ machine. Unless you have a habit of throwing 11" ultraportable laptops across the room, or take pleasure in skateboarding while balancing your TZ on one hand, I don't believe cracking your TZ screen is something that you must worry about on a day-to-day basis. The TZ is a very well-built machine. As long as you take care of your TZ, such as putting it inside a case when you are traveling, and treat it like the $2000+ machine that it is, everything should be okay.

If you're fine with your SZ, you'll be fine with the TZ. My brother has the SZ750 and it's just as solid as my TZ250.

    Thanks.
I just compared my SZ with the TZ and it is the same thickness.
