The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    This is a link to a FREE tool called Belarc that is used to document a PC: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

    It produces a very detailed inventory of all devices and installed software. One way to determine which applications are merely Sony bloatware would be for someone with a fresh machine from Japan :) to run this before installing personal apps and then to upload the report for us to compare with what we have on our machines. Any takers?

    Or perhaps there is another way to identify what all these applications/services are so we can make a better decision as (hate this space bar!!!) to what would be safe to remove. I love a clean 'ship'. :)
