so, this work order starts with a couple of incidents; my Z690 sometimes got frozen / locked up when the power source was changed from battery to AC power.

I called the technical support to get this problem resolved.

two out of three times, the agent whom I talked to in tech support department was asking me to send him a proof of receipt only by FAX...

I tried to pursuade him into sending the receipt thru email.. but it didn't work.

Finally, the last agent didn't request the receipt and i was able to submit a repair request..

    The original purchase date is Mar - 2X - 2009 and i called them Mar - X - 2009.

Something weird was that i never had applied for onsite warranty.. and they thought I had onsite warranty and decided to send an agent to my place.

The repair guy came yesterday, a week after I called, to home and he brought a new motherboard. He soon started to take apart my Z690. He was more like a noob with several screw drivers.. He seems that he didn't know which screws to take out first and tried to remove parts without removing screws... I told him that there are a couple screws that needed to be taken out before you do that....

Then, he almost got to the mobo. and replaced with one he got from SONY.

he put the parts back together and struggled with it...

After he finished, he didn't put the caps for lan and modem slots and...
MORE IMPORTANTLY... there was one extra screw...

then he connected AC plug to the laptop and the laptop started to automatically turned on and off disconnecting AC Adaptor only can stop the laptop from infinite loop of turning on and off.

He said... "well, i think you have two choices... 1. send it in... 2. wait for another onsite agent."
and he left.. and I could tell he was nervous and freaking out...

I sent the laptop for depot warranty and it is quite disgusting that I have to give them another try..
after 4 returns of Z690 and the faulty 5th one I've kept which came with a small crack on the bottom that cost me $160 to replace (for this repair i had to send the laptop for three times b/c they made big scratches and dents around the laptop on the top-lid). Now these tech support guys are the only ones that I have to trust...
    It is making me sick...

While he was at it, I couldn't look at what he was doing to my laptop b/c watching him forcefully taking apart my precious laptop was freaking me out....

this guy is from QUALSERV and apparently didn't know how to do his job.. and he told me that he repairs laptop nation-wide...watch for this guy, JIM... he will be coming to fuxk up your laptop.
