Hi there, I just got my Sony VAIO SR. :D

I would like to know how to turn off/uninstall all the unnecessary things to speed up the computer. I couldn't find very many things to uninstall in the "Uninstall/change programs" part of the control panel where you manually remove things. I don't want to do a clean install, I'm not computer savvy enough. So how do I remove all the unnecessary things?

Also, how do you turn off the "user account control" in windows vista?

Congrats on your new laptop. The answer to your question could easily be found by using The Google.

I can't help much the first question other than just manually uninstall what you won't use at all. if you dont know what it is, google it first then see if you need/want it.

    Second question: http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm

    Variety of methods there.
