Order Status Problem with Sony

I was wondering if any of you have ordered the new FE 790 before the 11th (aka the first day production started). I ordered a FE 690 a half a month before, and everyday i checked the order status and it was always the same. It was out of stock, i waited 15 days, and in the end i just decided to cancel, because i realized that the 790 was coming out and it was a lot cheaper.

So, pretty much i was wondering if anyone has gotten an estimated or actual ship date on the order status page. I assumed that i'd get one today cuz its the 5th day. Am i just being too impatient?

 

hey man, I just ordered the Sony FE790 on 14 SEPTEMBER around 7PM Eastern time.

I just got an email from Sony saying my Vaio was "in production" and that once it was ready to ship they would send another email. The email said it would be a few weeks before the actual arrival.

I hear HORROR stories of Sony shipping expensive laptops in ****ty card board boxes. I swear to god my laptop better not be ****ed up because Sony cheaped out on the bubble wrap....

 

I haven't even gotten an email saying that it was "in production", unless you're talking about the confirmation email, but that only says that they recieved my order.

Whats confusing me is the estimated shipdate. My guess is that they'd give me an estimated ship date while they were making a product, but if they're not going to give me an estimated shipdate until they ship it, why should they even estimate the date for me and just have the actual shipdate colum.

 

I ordered a SZ340 on the 11th (first day of production), got a confirmation email (status: order pending), got another email the next day (status: order processing) with an estimated shipdate of Sept 19th at that point, on Friday I got another update email (status: scheduled for production) with a newly updated shipdate of Sept 21st.

It looks like they provided new estimated shipdates each time they update your order status.. and yes, you should be getting a new confirmation email each time Sony updates your order status.

 

I think its ****ed up that it takes 3+ weeks from the time you place the order until you actually get the laptop. You'd think after spending so much, Sony (or someone else?) would be a lot quicker...

 

-___- great... i haven't been getting any confirmation emails at all. I ordered my FE on the 8th, and production started on the 11th. I haven't gotten a single email. Maybe its just with the FE? They said that the FE is back ordered... maybe that has something to do with it.

Sony is starting to p*$$ me off.

 

Are you serious??? What the f_uck. Sony better not be pulling that same crap on me. Mine still says "In production" too...and has been for the last 4 days. Why did I even bother with these idiots....

 

I checked it just now...and it no longer says "in production". It doesnt even show its status now...how did that change since my last post?

 

For me it says my order is processing and it is out of stock. When i ordered the 690 it was the same exact thing, and i ended up cancelling after waiting 15 days. Are they just out of FE's in general? Well they said back orders take 5-7 days to make, so if its not ready by tuesday, i'm going to complain.
