Where is the owner's lounge of the new 15.5" Sony Vaio S with the new Ivy Bridge CPU? The nomenclature is very confusing (SA, SB, SZ.....). I am very interested in this new laptop and would like to know the user's experience, especially with regard to the display quality, battery life and SSD performance.

I don't know if i've missed it anywhere, but has there been any confirmation on which variant of the 640m LE they're using? Fermi or Kepler?

I'm going to order this laptop soon, but I'm waiting for a good deal. In my country they seem to change discount on the specs every week. Right now they have 50% off memory upgrade, while the Sony US site gives you a FREE DOCKING STATION! And also $250 off PlayStation 3! How unfair is that!

retail price is 15% more to get my S in Taiwan, no discounts available AT ALL. how's that for fair! also, no customization options at all, 2 models to choose from for the 15", 4 to choose from for the 13". that's IT!

I have my Vaio since two days and its really great.

The Nvidia is an LE (Kepler), the display is brilliant and die fan very quiet. And yes it has the orangegate but you wont see it (only with a completly red background color).

    I've paid 970 € in Germany for the i5, 4gb ram and 1gb nvidia.

Good for you. I payed 1515€ for mine.
Considering that i have quad core + 128GB SSD, 2GB 640M, W7Pro, 8GB ram, im not too sad about it.
However, the same setup through Vaio German site, would have been cheaper.
I live in Estonia and i have no way to buy directly from Vaio site. So i bought mine from German reseller instead. One bonus for me is that they have it on stock. So i should be getting mine rather soon.

I do find those mixed series threads difficult to follow. It seems like the S15 may be replacing the F series which has always had its own owners thread.
