I'm configuring a FW390 CTO and mainly stuck on the processor speed.

The new P8700 at 2.53GHz or T9800 at 2.93 for an extra $450 more.

    Is it worth it?

What will be your uses for the computer? If you will be doing processor-intensive tasks such as video editing and doing it frequently, then the CPU upgrade may be worth it for you. But for most, its not worth the upgrade, especially at that high price. I would spring for a 7200rpm hard drive if you haven't done so already.

I couldn't delete this thread, but I made another in the other forum.

Thanks for the response... yeah I would be going for the 7200rpm, that is a MUST.

    This would be the specs:

    • Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53GHz)
    • Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium 64-bit
    • Titanium Gray
    • 2 GB DDR2-SDRAM (DDR2-800, 1GBx2) (will upgrade on my own)
    • 320 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [7200 rpm]
    • Blu-ray Disc™ Read and Write Drive
    • ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 3650 with 512MB vRAM
    • LCD 16.4" (XBRITE-FullHD™)

    Price: $1379.99

In comparison to my other choice is the MBP 15 inch with similar specs... (less in most areas, more in some)...

    Price: $2344.00

That's $964.01 more for the MBP...

For some reason, I'm still confused. I like the Apple OS with the Multitouch. However I am actually capable of using Windows and enjoy tech stuff.
