    They are for real and it is a good price, please note not all 680's are the same for example there are 680n01 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 that same one you are talking of portable one sells at 1999. Don't know if pcnation can upgrade it without voiding the warranty. (providing you want to upgrade to a 7200rpm HDD)

    It is carbon fiber, though it does'nt have the "weave" effect that the 691 has

    I never understood the model naming...why is the 650 better than this 680 configuration (CPU speed/ram)?

    They get better as the numbers go higher but the 680 is the customizable model thus some configurations might be "worse" than the lower numbered models. It gives people that want to get for example more RAM by themselves the option to buy less included RAM that wont be used.

    Why is the newer SZ 680 model 4 lbs now instead of 3.72 lbs? What is accounting for the extra weight?
