    Hi there:

First of all I have a K35 with a failed hard drive (SMART indicated failure) and I'm hoping to get a replacement HD.

Question is... can a basic 2.5' HD do the trick or does it have to be a specific VAIO intended HD?

Any recommended venders? I'm hoping for an upgrade to 7200rpm (the OEM one was a Toshiba 80GB 5400rpm). I've scoured eBay and newegg.com but not sure which ones will fit...

FYI the K35 came with upgraded 1GB Ram, 3.2mHz P4.

    Thanks in advance!

I just help my friend fix her K13 2 weeks ago. (The 2.8 Ghz Version)

Her hard drive fail and I help her replace another one.

Any 2.5 HDD will do fine. I got a Samsung 5400 rpm hard drive because it was super quiet. A 7200 will also do fine.
