I'm trying to do a clean install of Windows XP on a PCG-SRX77P for the first time (I've had the machine for a few years but its now developed many problems such that I need to do a clean install).

I've downloaded all the original/updated files for this machine from the Sony support site, as well as the WinXP and VAIO Apps install doc. This doc says I need to install the Sony Shared Library as part of the process, but the Sony Shared Library is not included on the file download page.

Is the Sony Shared Library necessary for my machine, and if so, does anyone know where I can find this for the PCG-SRX77P?

Has anyone done a clean install on a PCG-SRX77P and have any insight into how best to do it?

    Thanks.
