I've got an FZ283BN with blu-ray writer. PS3 blu-ray discs are not recognised by the drive, but Blu-ray movie discs are. Is this normal or is there a firmware update to correct this.

I'm guessing this is normal my AW11S/B also has blu-ray writer and just spat out the PS3 blu-ray game...but plays movies fine.

Your drive can't even read the PS3 games? It should at least be able to look at the game files stored on the disc, like I was able to see the content on my PS2 games on my DVD drive years ago.

I would bet each PS3 Blu-Ray player has special firmware to read PS3 games. I know the xbox is like that I'm sure the PS3 is the same.

Yes that was possible with PS2 games I remember, I never used it for anything though.

If you want to look at ps3 discs on a PC for whatever reason you can with the Lite-ON DH-401S (which can't write Blu-rays) I believe. No PC has ever been able to emulate PS2 games properly so you can forget about playing PS3 games on any PC.

    Lets cut the BS.

The only reason you'd want to do this is to back up ps3 games...which doesn't look like it's going to be possible anytime soon. Though it has been done using just the PS3 itself that linux OS thing you can get for the ps3 and storing the content of the blu-ray onto the HD of the PS3...I don't know all the details google it.
