    I'm just curious about this...

Based on the processor specs, can anyone guess how much better/faster the performance will be on this newer TZ vs. this older Dell?:

    Dell D420 = Core Duo U2500 Processor (1.2 GHz)
    Sony TZ250 = Core 2 Duo U7600 Processor (1.2 GHz)

Would it be barely noticeable? very noticeable? somewhere in between?

    Thanks!

I don't think it would be very noticeable at all. Really the only difference is that of course the Core 2 Duo in the TZ can run 64-bit applications, which I think is completely ridiculous on an ultraportable anyways, how would 64-bit help at all in a TZ? For one thing, it only takes up to 2gb of ram anyways (32 bit can only recognize up to 3.2gb) and a 1.2ghz processor doesn't seem like a huge 64-bit cruncher.

Clock for clock, a Core2 may perform 10 percent better and have better battery life, so it's not all bad.

Hmm... that's kinda what I figured. In that case, it wouldn't be a wise upgrade choice for me.

    Thanks, guys.
