If your model is a UK/Europe Z then there are definitely no warranty stickers to be afraid of when removing the keyboard to access the HDD. I think this is the same for the US and JAP spec but can't vouch for them.
I don't think you can change the CPU as this uses Sony's Thermal Paste and if you remove it then they would definitely be able to tell.
Likewise if you change the HDD you'd need to keep hold of the original and swap it back for any Warranty repair work.

Is the Sony CW the same when replacing the hard drive? With most laptops you take out like 2 screws and your done.

Hi I have a VGN-Z46 with a HORRIBLE squeaky screen that is loose...I can't find the bill and the wonderful people at Sony say they wont entertain it without the bill!!! Even though it was bought a few months back from the very shop and is still under warranty!
How would I access the hinges and maybe tighten them?
Thank you -
This thread was started when the Z was launched but since then a little more info is available.
This is the Z service manual.

falcon26, i suggest you ask your question in the CW owners thread or start up a new post about it. From what i know though that no these are not the same but a CW owner could better answer your question. -
interesting photos,
