    I have sony vaio PCG-FRV37

    My window had been corrupted. i run recovery setup and it working again fine. but problem is that now it is not reading and CD disks. But it working fine with DVD disks.

    it has combo drive DVD-RW/CD-RW (Mat****a UJ-810 Model)

    Kindly give me suggestion ?

    I'd start by re-installing the drivers for the optical drive.

    Yea Brian seems to be on the right track. I experienced something like that on my FRV27, though I can't remember the conditions of why the dvd-rw stopped working. Luckily I got the service plan from Best Buy and they took in the laptop and replaced the drive. I wouldn't assume your drive is fried, and keep that as a last resort.
