    You gotta realize most of the people who post here are in the United States, or at least in North America...and you're posting at around 4 in the morning.

    The only reason I'm up is because I have two final exams tomorrow.

    With regards to the laptop, I have no idea. Wait until the informed people wake up.

    Personally I think the Toshiba Qosmio is way overpriced for what you get. It has a nice screen and the built-in TV but for $2500 (U.S.) I could buy a sweet laptop and sweet TV for that.

    The VAIO A can be had for a lesser price and, from what I have seen, has received better reviews on the web.

    Um...one has a 15.4" 1440x900 monitor and the other has 17"1920x1280, that's kind of hard to compare when your most important consideration is the screen. They are totally different[B)]. I think the difference will be pretty obvious if you can see the two of them side by side.

    Now, Toshiba is technologically more advanced in making bright reflective LCD and in fact they make some for Sony laptops. However, perhaps it's a personal preference thing or maybe Toshiba only distribute their best screens in Japan, Sony screens typically gets more nods than Toshiba screens.

    thanks guys,

    well so can I ask this? Trubrite or Xbrite? and how important conrast ratio? sony has 90000:1 con.ratio and toshiba quismo has 400:1
    this s a huge difference isnt it? and is it important?and last thing "NIT" amounts how much important acer s 8000 series have 200 nit,toshiba qoismo s average 400 nit,I dont know sony s?

    and I found this one in Turkey;

    Intel Centrino 2.0 (amazing)(I only see same thing in acer s 8000 series in Turkey,but of course its screen quality isnt as good as sony)
    80 GB HHD
    512 MB Ram
    15.4" SONY VAIO XBRITE LCD WIDESSCREEN
    ati 64 9700 ati
    DVD-RW/CD-RW
