There is a $700 difference between the two. So my questions is:
How much is the aftermarket 32GB SSD anyway?
Is it worth it if buy it and install myself or just take the 100GB HDD and be happy with it?
    Any other suggestions?

    Please advise, thx.

I am dealing with this too.. But I really dont want to pay for 32GB $650 - i take 160GB and no DVD and buy SSD later (I saw SSD 32GB for $350 on ebay)..

100GB is 4200rpm so dont wait any great performance in vista, but its cheap. SSD is really fast, makes no vibrations or sound, but is expensive..

agree, SSD will replace HDD eventually. Just hate to be an early adopter and see price cut after I buy it (Like 2 months ago I bought iphone for $700)

If you are going to run Vista, I think the SSD is well worth the money. I was running Vista on a ThinkPad T61 prior to getting the TZ and it was VERY SLOW. The SSD makes Vista usable.

i just bought the 150...and 2GB ram to upgrade it. When SSD prices drop and the 64GB comes out, I'll pop one in.

I would go with the ssd if you are planning on keeping vista.

If you are willing to install xp, then the 4200 rpm 100 gb hd should be acceptable.

    Tip: Import yours from Japan.

You can get SSD + 160 GB HDD + Premium carbon

SSD for your operating system and applications, 160GB 5400 RPM HD for your data.

4200rpm drive + vista = driving a car with the hand brake on.
