    Delivered
Elkins Park, PALeft at front door. Signature Service not requested.
I don't understand why they can leave my lappy at front door without anyone recieving it. I have made 3 phone calls to Fedex service center and no one pick up. Can any one please explain this to me i think they should have to left a notice' letter instead drop the item irresponsibly.

Cin had something similar happen to her with a TV from Dell - get your neighbour to collect the item.

One does wonder why some people don't think...

Bottom line is, if you do not receive your laptop in brand new mint condition, you go to your bank or credit card company and ask for a full refund of your money. Any company that leaves a $2K laotop sitting on the street is negligent, and to all intent an purpose,(with no evidence to the contrary) probably fraudulent. Unless they can prove otherwise, it looks like the delivery person has kept the package and just lied about having delivered it.

The burdon of proof is entirely on the delivery agent and the company you bought from. Accusations of fraud and theft, and refusal to talk to call centre staff below management level, tend to get action and compensation quickly.

Where did you buy the laptop from? I know SonyStyle always require signature. They won't even let you hold the laptop at the carrier's office. After 3 failed attempts, the laptop would be send back to SonyStyle.

The United States Post Office does that too. I lost a MacBook Pro and the $1400 the person paid for it by the postman leaving the package at the door. It was a hard lesson to learn, but now I always require a signature.

Do they actually honour the "signed for"?

We had Royal Mail in the UK drop "signed for" letters from Germany through the letterbox...

I'm pretty sure when I got my SR, fedex just left it at the front door without a signature.

I know that PayPal gave the buyer of my MacBook Pro back their $1400 because I didn't get a signature. Anyone could have signed for it, even a robber or a person other than the recipient, and I would have gotten my money. PayPal just wanted a signature, from what I was told by the PayPal agent. Like I said, it was a hard lesson to learn, especially since that money was to provide for my family because I lost my job earlier in the year.
