    Hello,

My vpc-z1190x won't power on at all. I used it just yesterday. I expected to use it today but it doesn't turn on t all - the green indicator does not come on or change colors or anything. No post screen, no fans, NOTHING. The only light can get to turn on is the light to show I'm charging. I tried pulling out the battery but it won't come on with just the power plugged in.

Update - I left it plugged in all night with the battery in - still nothing.

    You could try a "reset":

    unplug AC adapter
    remove battery
press and hold power button for 30 seconds, then release
    install battery
plug AC back in and turn on.

this worked for my SR when it would not turn on.

Thanks - I appreciate it but no joy.

Press a little harder on the power button. Perhaps, if you're lucky, all that's broken is the power button itself.

Thanks - took it apart in case it was just the power button.

For some reason it works if I basically remove EVERYTHING from inside the housing. Only problem is I damaged the lockdown ribbon holder of the touchpad. Anyone know of a place I could send this for repair that handles that sort of thing affordably. It is still a very good unit - i7, 512GB storage so I hate to throw it away. I could possibly buy a new trackpad but I'm worried I'll muck it up as well.
