    Hi there

Got a used VGN-SZ650N last nite, installed with Vista Business Edition, seller already burn me a set of recovery DVD to restore back to Vista Business Edition. This morning I wipe out my C drive partition and installed XP professional from scratch and leave the recovery partition (hidden) alone. Tonight my wife changed her mind and want me to put Vista business back to this laptop. Now I have XP on C Drive and a set of recovery DVD, what is the quickest way for me to restore Vista Business back to the laptop & make my wife happy.

    Please help !!

While the instructions given by the Dell owner will work, the quicker way is to use the hidden recovery partition. All you need to do is power off the machine, then restart it. Immediately hit the F10 key. This will cause the BIOS to boot from the hidden partition and load the same restore application that resides on the recovery DVD set mentioned in the link booboo provided you. But since the transfer speed from the hard drive is quite a bit faster than the DVD drive, the restore will be faster.
