Hi , I'm new here and I hope the techs here can help . I have a Sony laptop , model PCG-GRT100 . My wireless adapter seem not to be working any longer . In Devise Manager there a yellow exclamation mark on my adapter . I have try to get the latest driver but that didn't help . I got a code 10 error . I'm thinking it has die on me because of age . Now I am curious what are my options ? Can these card be replace ? If so ? Does anyone know what I should look for ? Thanks so much for any help .
I am using windows xp pro .

If it is still under warranty, then Sony will replace it for sure.
If it's not, it can be replaced, but you have to find the service manual, which is just basically a manual on how to open the laptop. Then you can get the card from parts resellers, just google laptop parts and you will find a few.
An easier way would be to get a wireless USB, or even PCMCIA wireless card. Although these would be a less convinient choices. -
hi,have you tried to use system restore back to the last couple of days that it was working.

Hi , Thanks for responding . My laptop is old , around 8 years now . I have seen the back cover and removed to view the wireless adapter card . I was hope to get a new card but I am not sure what type I need to replace it . This is where I was hopeing people from here can tell me . Thanks
I try system restore and it didn't work . I believe the card itself it died . I really would just like to remove the old card and add a new one . Thanks -
From browsing a few parts resellers on the internet, I am under the impression that any Intel or Broadcom (IntelPRo wireless 2200 for example) would work. If the drivers don't match the driver that Sony provided with the laptop, then I'm pretty sure that Intel or Broadcom have the drivers on their website.
Please help with wireless adapter
