I have the vaio Z2 ...
I am at 5% and need to charge my laptop. But I am also using it. So I plug it in and continue using it.
However the battery meter says "Plugged in, not charging".
Why not?

wrong charger?
did you screw around with the battery care settings in vaio control center? -
I think battery card won't stop charging at just 5%.
Turn off your laptop, do you see battery light on? -
It happened to me once.
I just unplugged and then plugged bak in the adapter and it was fine. -
To all questions above - no.
To the poster immediately above this - yeah - it just happens sometimes.
Bug. -
Well here I am two years, and two laptops later, and its happening again.
Just got the VAIO S .... and the extended battery is attached but "Not charging". This must be a setting somewhere ?

Okay so the solution is simple. While still plugged in, unplug the extended battery and re attach it.
This will change the battery monitor thingy to go from 100% to 50% (two batteries, one is full) ... and "charging"
If that doesn't work, try a few timesAttached Files:
