    Hi all,
I am looking to buy a notebook cooler for my Z12.
I have bought and tried Zalman NC-3000U Notebook Cooler but it really doesn't cool my Z12 all that much.

I recently started playing WoW and when fan kicks in it just gets really loud. (I use skype to chat with my friend who plays with me too)

I was hoping the notebook cooler would reduce the fan noise but temps aren't all that reduced by the notebook cooler.

Another thing is that Z12 has vent on the left side of the body so blowing the air toward the bottom of the notebook doesn't really cool anything, it seems.

Can you guys recommend me a good notebook cooler that will help me reducing temps and onboard fan's noise?

You could just use a standard fan.

Maybe invest in a USB headset -- that'll draw away from the noise -- Personally I don't think any notebook cooler really helps. The best way is probably to elevate the notebook (like getting a high capacity battery to increase the clearance between the bottom of the laptop and the table.

    Thanks for the replies. :)
Yes I don't think notebook cooler helps all that much with Z12 at least. (I don't know about other laptops tho.)

I should get a headset as komugi suggested.

The only reason, it doesn't really do anything is because even though you see 90+ Celsius on your Z, Sony designed the Z so that the case doesn't become a secondary heatsink (and by the same logic, your lap as the tertiary heatsink). However, since the internal fan is so adept at removing the heat, the only real way you can help cool down the cpu/gpu, is by literally forcing more air through the ports on the bottom of the Z so that it'll help cool down the heatsink internally, which will probably require a huge fan, that'll make more noise than the internal fan...

long story short, use the noise-canceling earbuds that came with your Z (it's got it's own microphone for the noise-canceling and you can use that with skype :D)
