I am having an issue with the pointer on my new VGN-FS760/W. More specifically, when I move the pointer over a folder/icon, it automatically highlights the folder/icon, so that only one click is necessary to open it. I have tried to reconfigure the touchpad for double-click functionality, but this does not solve the problem.

Does anyone have suggestions? The pointer on my old Toshiba notebook doesn't operate this way, and I am going nuts here. I am constantly opening folders/selecting icons by accident (i.e., I expect to double-click to open something).

hey jaskom that task is not your touchpad. you can go to Folder option and change the single click to open>to double click to open.i hope you'll know how to go folder option.
