This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Pokey FZ 4400 RPM hard drive a curse?

    Why did Sony put a relatively slow hard drive on the FZ180 notebook? Doesn't this encumber any use that involves advanced processing or high definition video viles? Do the hard drive upgrades offered with the FX190 model have a higher speed? The SonyStyle site upgrade features do not clarify, nor does the "check out" the spec. list.

    I've FZ190 with 5400 rpm hard drive, seems to be ok for what I'm doing.
