Of current Z1 owners, which have you decided to do?

    1) Buy a Z2

    2) Keep your Z1

    3) Buy something else

I guess we can't choose more than one option eh?

I'm keeping my Z for now but planning to swap it out for a Macbook Pro in a few years.

I am replacing my Z13 with F217. :) I know both are completely different kind of machines but for me they are in the same league. I just want THE best Sony has to offer and this year its the F 3D in terms of screen and performance.

I really don't care much about the rest apart from the screen and performance. And it can't be some other brand as I only want a Sony!

Quite a few said they were keeping their Z1 and getting a Z2. Anyone know if there is a way to make a poll that allows for more than one vote?

Make all the different permutations as options, this would give a clearer result also.

Keeping mines and watch you all get a new Z2 (student budget, but if i had cash, not sure i would get the Z2).

waiting for the S2 tablet to come out though... hope it isn't hella expensive, and hope they release a wi-fi only model. Actually just got my dad an Asus Transformer for $335 new after taxes from Best Buy PMing Staples :p

Can anyone provide info on how much they bought the Vaio Z1 and sold it for, and how long they've had it for?

Wondering if I should grab Z2 or SA, want to see how well the resell value is. Definitely want Z2 over SA but it maybe not worth the price difference.

I'm keeping the Z1 for now. At the moment I've really lost my taste for the Z2 getting the color and configuration I want is not even really possible. I can get the Gold from Conics for $1k more with locked WWAN or I can get the Gold from CA with no WWAN. Basically I want Gold and I want WWAN and those two options just don't seem to be available to me. I could get one from the UK I suppose, I have family there. Seems like a lot of work and money for something I don't really need. Maybe the US options will change on the refresh. I don't know. For now, I am putting my money into upgrading what I already have.

Is there a way to modify an existing poll, or do I have to start over? Though several wrote that they were keeping both, in the poll without option of keeping + buying has a 38 responses, 32 keeping Z1. Hate to kill that and re-start. My guess is that those keeping the Z1 and getting a Z2 or other are only keeping the Z1 as a hedge in case the Z2 underwhelms them and they return it. Thoughts?

As an aside, other than the thirst for something new (Computer Cowboy?! :D) or someone really wanting a stronger (but still weak-ish) desktop gpu (and adverse to use of a Vidock), seems hard to justify replacing the Z1. Well, 15 hrs with the sheet, but nobody seems to mention that for $150 or less, the 9 cell battery for the Z1 gets 6-9 hours - verified, I have one.

Depending on config and condition, you can sell a used Z1 for anywhere from 900 (very low end) to over $1,500 for 256GB SSD, 1080, etc. Carbon fiber gets a $50-$100 premium, unless palm rests are worn off. 3 months or more remaining warranty also adds. Best: check eBay recent past sales.

    Buy the Z2 and keep both VGN-Z & VPC-Z1.
I am a huge fan of the Z series.

Will sit out the first iteration of this all-new design. Will drool on from the sidelines and consider an Ivy Bridge Z in 2012.

Which may not be a bad thing. IB powered laptops should be appearing on the market sometime in mid 2012. The VAIO Z should be undergoing its 2nd refresh by that time. Of course, the next Z might very well be appearing at or around the end of 2012, which basically brings you back to the same dilemma. :D

I second that, especially since I am now partying with WQXGA, can't do that with the Z2.

(OK I'll shut up now, just can't believe how sweet it is)
