    All,

Out of sheer dumb blind luck I THINK I found a way to get all those neat little things like the wireless and graphics switchs to work. I was playing with a Knoppix Live Distro CD when I noticed that it had mounted two HDD volumes. The first volume it had named /sda1 and when I opened it I was suddenly handed the keys to the kingdom. Inside this volume I found folders labeled with names like Sony HDD Protection Driver etc.... I tried simply copying and pasting the the folders into the boot partition but got an error that seems to point to an inability to write to the bootable NTFS partition but since this is a LIVE distro CD it is possible to install it onto unused space on the partiton, doing that one should be able to use a Linux cd writing package to burn the drivers to a CD and then read it in a PC. I'm going to keep fiddling with it but thought I should pass what I had along.

BTW I should add that I'm not installing the Knoppix distro as this laptop isn't mine, I'm test driving a friend's to see if it's a good fit for me.

    We are waiting...

Two utilities which specifically have had problems after clean install. Wireless Switching and VAIO Camera Utility... see if you can get them to work... that would be some real breakthrough achievement :)
