    I set it to 2 - 3 brightness, everything Disabled for on battery.

    do you use the sony supplied power managment app?

    Is there a quick way to switch between "home office" to "portable laptop" without manually right clicking the battery, and whatever whatever?

    I use Notebook Hardware Control. I set it for max battery to help keep the heat and noise down. Works fine for the things I do.
