I have a question about the power saving modes on the SZ. In particular, what is the difference between performance and adaptive. Even when run in performance mode, cpu z shows that the processor steps down (in my case, from 1.83 to 1g). If that is the case, how is adaptive mode different from performance mode?

Yeah, I wondered about that too. Anybody know? At least battery mode seems to work like its supposed to (staying put at 1ghz).

My guess is that in adaptive mode stepdown happens in a more aggressive manner than in performance mode. That is, the CPU will step down more quickly in a given situation when in adaptive mode than in performance mode. There may also be some situations where the cpu does not step down in performance mode but will when in adaptive.

I'll cehck mine, but I'm sure it kept my processor at full and adaptive lowered it
