I upgraded an SZ370 from XP to Vista and the "Power On" security option is now missing from the Protector Suite software. This is the option that allows you to store fingerprins in the sensor itself. This in turn allows you to use your fingerprint for power-on authentication and single sign on (the authentication is passed from the BIOS to Windows). I am running Protector Suite 5.6.0.3278 (the latest version posted on Sony's web site).

Has anyone had this happen and figured out a solution? I have been talking to Sony for over 3 weeks and they don't have any suggestions other than re-install Protector Suite (which I have done numerous times).

    Thanks in advance.

    Update to the latest bios.
Press F2 on boot, find the option to clear data from the fingerprint sensor and do it. Make sure your passwords are set in bios and the password on boot feature is enabled, or it will not work.
    Boot, it worked for me.

The problem is that Protector Suite does not enable the options to save the passwords to the bios nor allow the password on boot feature.

I cleared my passwords from the sensor (they were there from when this worked with Windows XP) and it still did not work.

    Thanks

Vista and Viaos don't seem to mix well... Still trying to get my dads to run right.
