Hey guys, i ordered an SZ from sonystyle.ca and it should be arriving sometime tmr. Is there any advice you guys can give me about where to start - the do's and donts? I know a lot of other ppl are supersticious about the battery and how to break it in - i read somewhere that some ppl actually drain the battery first and then fully charge (im not too sure if it pertained to Sony's).

What about which bloatware to eliminate? Sorry if this seems like a trivial question. If anyone maybe can provide me with a link to a previous post on this question, that would be wonderful!

    Thanks in advance.

    Um, don't drop it? :)

As for the battery, I'd recommend using the Sony Battery Care function if your new lappy supports it. It will keep the battery ay 80% charge, reducing wear significantly. As for pre-charging\draining, I don't believe in it. Lithium's shouldn't need it.

Use the VAIO Uninstall application to prune apps. It's another version of Add/Remove Programs, but nuke stuff like Spyware and Symantec stuffs. Delete anything you won't use or never heard of. Do keep most of the Sony stuff (drivers and whatnot).
