Hi Guys, I dont know how to use this SQL Server. No tools to create/modify table.

I think it is better to install SQL Server Management Studio 2005. But I cannot install it.

Not sure which version of SSMS is suitable for the Pre loaded SQL server.

    Hope someone can help.

    Install everything, include the docs.

I install the regular SQL Server on my desktop. It should work on the Z.

But the OP is not talking about installing SQL Server. He is talking about using the instance that came pre-installed on his machine.

The problem with the pre-installed instance is it is not installed in a fashion that will easily allow you to use it for anything else except for the purpose it was put there by Sony. That purpose is in support of the Vaio Entertainment Platform. This is a media player system for VAIO machines and SQL server is used as a database for metadata about your media files.

The problem with the installation being used for other purposes is that Sony chose to install it as what is called a "named instance" rather than a "default instance". This makes it more difficult to use with the management tools etc.

The OP would be better off installing a default instance and the management tools so they easily create and use their own databases. It CAN be done with a named instance but it is a hassle.

Look up SQL SERVER 2005 NAMED INSTANCE on Google for more details.
