I have a Sony Vaio VGN N130G with an
integrated Intel PRO/Wireless 3915ABG wireless or
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG that runs the standard sony driver.

I also have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG that runs the driver for Intel Proset/Wireless driver.

    So.......

I am trying to install the drivers for a for the Proset/Wireless like the Dell on the Sony Vaio. But I get a message that this driver is not for my model.

    Is that a bios thing?
I want to install an "Intel driver" on Sony... is there a way to get it to work?

The reason why I want to is because the Proset gets 3 bars and the Pro only gets one intermittently for wireless internet connection.

Thanks so much for your time
    M

There is no such thing called "sony driver". It's all intel supplied.

    I understand that. Sorry.

What I am saying is... when I get the same INTEL driver that is on the Dell and try to install it on the Sony I get the message that the update is not for my model.

I am installing INTEL driver for INTEL Wireless card.

    Thank you so much.

This actually led to me realizing that I just needed to know the exact card I had and which INTEL driver from INTEL's website was needed.

    Now it works.

First time messing with laptop and parts. Didnt realize how Intel supplies that many parts to that many different PC companies.
