Since I installed the new driver of Windows 7 for my Z, I have some wierd problem in Stamina mode (see attached photo). I wonder if someone has the same problem. I installed the driver in the same time that I update my Z's RAM to 6GB (bought a 4GB). It may be my new RAM, but I don't have any problem in Speed mode, no error with Memtest, and no BSOD either.

How much RAM do you have installed, pizzicato? My Vaio Z is pretty much identical to NHT's apart from my RAM being 4GB and NHT has 6GB but not having this issue.

If it is the RAM causing that, probably the uneven amount of memory (4GB+2GB) affecting Intel's GPU shared memory.

Make sure to double check the versions of the actual files installed with the Intel drivers.

Open "Device Manager" -> "Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family" -> "Driver" Tab -> "Driver Details"

Most of the driver files should end in 1872. Sounds like a bad install on the Intel side.

Uninstall and re-install the video drivers again, as well as Sony Event Service?

If not, re-install the whole OS again. Don't see why it wouldn't work on your system.

Wow i think i found solution from this.

I also have this problem too when enable bios with advanced function. No matter what version it is (R4040M3, R4043M3). So i flash it back to official R4041M3 and then flash back to official R4043M3 this problem disappear.

NHT please tell me that u enable bios with advanced function or not :D

PS. I advice to switch graphics to stamina mode before flash back to R4041M3 otherwise u will reboot and found that u only have half display to flash it back :p

I think I fought it. Enabling the VT-d in the advanced options will make this problem.
