    Problem With Vaio Recovery Utility

    I recently used the Vaio Recovery Utility to reinstall my laptop's factory installed programs. After nearly completing the process, a message came up: "Click OK to start the application recovery. If you do not perform the application recovery, your computer may become unstable. Make sure you complete this process now.

    However, after clicking "OK" I got the following error message:

    "An environment error occurred. (ErrorCode=208)."

    Despite this, the computer has operated OK except that the Vaio Zone software application does not appear to have been recovered. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way of getting the Vaio zone software to go?

    I have just noticed that the Roxio DVD burning software was not recovered either! It seems very strange to me that most programs were recovered by the Vaio Recovery Utility, but a few others weren't! I wonder why this would happen?

    This serves to illustrate that it would have been far better if Sony had supplied the original software disks so that users can reinstall software themselves, rather than having to rely on the Vaio Recovery Utility.

    Programs sometimes have to be reinstalled because they become corrupted, and I find it is most frustrating not to be supplied with the software disks. After all you are paying for the software, and my experience shows that the Vaio Recovery Utility is not always reliable.

    I am not sure whether the Vaio Recovery Utility allows you to reinstall just one program, without having to lose all the data on C Drive. Has anyone tried to do this in the absence of software discs?

    yeah i have the same problem in recovery utility.my problem is when

    After clicking "OK" it run however while installing interclick DVD it stuck at 25% and i waited for a night long.it still stuck at 25% i have tried 3 times and still the same problem.anyone can suggest some advice?
