    Hi all,

A few days ago i installed a "clean"version of vista on my FW11M(in spanish).
And now i have a few problems, first i can't get the FN keys to work, and second when i install the vaio utils pack, then after installin all components and rebooting mi laptops i get an message screen that my battery is not compatible or something like that see ataches screenshot for the error.
And when i take out my battery like now, i dont have the error.
    The error in english says:

It can be that your battery isn't corectly conected to your pc or isn't compatible.

Click on the accept button to enter to the hibernate modus, and extract and reinsert the battery.

Consult your vaio guide for more info on compatibylity.

Does anyone know how to fix this and get the FN keys working. (I know there are many threads about this, but there are somuch..that i don't know in which to look  )

Have you installed the Vaio shared libraries before installing the utilities?

There's a clean install guide for the SZ that has a set order list in order for the fn keys to work. You might want to look into it and see if you can duplicate the same order for your notebook.

You say yes but by your answer I'm not sure if you understand my question.

The Sony Shared Library is not a driver. It's something you have to install after the drivers and before the utilities.

Maybe you already know this but I though I'd mention it anyway.

That message looks like one of the programs that you probably should not install. All that program does is check your battery and see if it's a Sony brand or a third party brand, and if it isn't a Sony, your laptop will stay in hibernate mode until the battery is removed.

Right, I was thinking that too, if you're doing a clean install why go install all the bloatware again.

I'm kind of minimalistic in my software preferences, I would probably not install any Somy utility.

Whell i am not installing all that bloatware just because i want to, but i am trying to get the FN keys working.
And i know that the shared librery isn't a driver. But i installed the Sony Shared library, and for my notebook there is also a video shared library so i installed that one, and then i install the event service.
But anyway yesterday i removed all the sony utils(inlcuding the shared libraries and event service) and tonight when i get home from work ill try it.

You may need to start over again with a clean Vista install and then follow the guide, installing things in the prescribed order. At this point you may not be able to get things functional given the current attempts at installing, uninstalling, reinstalling etc.
