so for some reason i cant access my recovery partition. pressing f10 on bootup does nothing. so i got a copy of xp pro with sp3 from a friend and tried to install it. everything went fine. but first off. its only letting me get a max resolution of 1024x768, when my native is supposed to be 1280x800. also its not letting me go online. i cant set up a connection even if im directly connected. what do i need to do? do i have to reformat the whole drive so that the recovery is gone? ive been using an old copy of pclinuxos2007 and it works fine for most things but im getting tired of it.
thanks.

roor: The drivers can be installed with portable srorage devises like flash drives, memory cards or cd/dvd. I have know idea what your experience is on this issue so I am going to ask you some questions to see if I can help you with this problem.
1: Is the wifi switch on and the local area connection on
2: Have you made sure that your system is not set to work off line.
3: Have you tried switching between the existing wifi utility and the windows wifi utility
4: Have you tried connecting to the web through an unsecured site like at a library or a free hot spot.
5: Are your security settings keeping you from connecting to the web. -
i've checked for all of those.
i guess ill have to download the drivers onto a flash drive before hand.
but regardless i should be able to get online
