    Dear friends.
I have a Sony vaio model VPCEB1S0E hard disc failure and my technician change with a new one install windows 7 back again with my serial number, so it's working fine as it was before.

The problem that I wish to solve if it's possible.
I wish to install all the updates of Sony like it was before I have the hard disc failure because now I haven't got vaio care, vaio assist and web button functional.

    Thanks in advance

    Any help would be appreciated.

Two options... One easy, one more comprehensive. If you have a recovery-partition on your new drive you can do a full system recovery by booting your computer from the recovery partition by hitting the 'assist' button from power-off mode instead of the 'power on' button. Alternatiely boot from a BD or DVD(s) recovery disk(s).

Easy, less comprehensive solution is to install the Vaio Control Panel application that will give you the three buttons in question functionality. However, if Vaio Control Panel application isn't installed on your system, there's a good chance other software (like Adobe Acrobat, TrueTec Suite, etc.) has gone missing too...

    Thanks for your help M8
The problem is that my tech install a new fresh windows 7 so that's why I haven't got any thing from sony on my laptop now.
another problem is that my HDD now is not partitioned so I have a 500GB without any partition.

Another thing that he told me that my old recovery disc's are not good any more for my laptop.

When I bring it back I try my recovery disc and nothing happen to my laptop.

Is there a way how to download back again the sony vaio care ?
Because before I had a HDD failure I found it very useful when I need to make a windows recovery.

    Thanks for your help

Don't worry about it. Look for a 'clean install' thread/guide for your model (hint: start by looking in the sticky thread on the index page). Everything you need can be downloaded from the Sony support site for your model. They need to be installed in a specific order, so make sure you follow the guide religiously.

If it's already a clean install, I see no point in making another one. Vaio Care you can get from the Sony support page, though, you really have no need for it. Soy rarely releases any updates, if at all, and all that program does is consume resources. The vaio control panel program though is a must and let's you customize at least the vaio-button, which means you'll end up with one 'dead' key - the assist one... As for drivers, just make sure your graphics and ssd-controller drivers are up-to-date (nvidia or amd or intel for graphics and probably intel for the ssd-controller). This for gaming speed and system stability... The Intel USB3 drivers is also nice to keep updated, as it will improve transfer rates with external disks and memorysticks (buh! to Microsoft for knocking Intel out of USB3 driver developments for Winblows 8)

The disk you can partition and format to your liking with win 7 in-built diskmanagement program - control panel - admiinistrative tools - system management - disk management.

Keep Windows recovery on is my advice and make a recovery timestamp when your baseline is ready and stable and also get a cloning software and make a cloned backup of your baseline-system and keep it on a usb stick, dvd, bd-rom or external ssd/hdd.

I said ""clean install" guide" which provides a comprehensive list of what you have to install and in which order. I've installed Windows 7 pro x64 several times, and later Windows 8 pro x64 on my VPCZ1 and everything works as expected. (Okay, I can't swear to the SD card reader because I don't use it).
