    Hi, everyone. I have a problem with the camera on my VAIO VGN-CR290. Whenever I take a still photo or video, the captured image or video that is saved becomes mirrored (the left and right are reversed). Even the mirror box in the camera setup is unchecked. Currently, I am running version 2.7.01.08030 of VAIO camera capture utility and the driver for the webcam is version 6.1005.209.0. Thanks in advance.

    I had Windows Vista preinstalled on a FZ31M Vaio. Somehow I managed to lose it and I had to install another Vista on this laptop. All the drivers are OK now, but the VAIO Camera Capture utility program fails to start.

    I need the VAIO Camera Capture utility so that I can use the camera as well.

    Can anyone help me ???

    I have installed the utility for the camera, but when I started it there was a "No Input" message. What do I do now?

    My CR240 has the 6.1005.209.0 driver installed for the VCC6 camera
    and i have the 2.7 utility.
    i think that's the newer utility to solve the audio/video lag that the original software had when you tried to record a short video.

    Since I don't really need Camera Capture Utility I always test my cam device (VCC6) using VirtualDub (GNU GPL, x64 version available, no installer required; http://www.virtualdub.com/).

    "File->Capture AVI..."
    check menu "Device".
    "Video->Capture Pin..." to select resolution/fps.
    "Video->Capture Filter..." has mirror, color correction etc.
    ...

    Always works fine on my machine, Vista32 and 64. Advantage of VirtualDub might be that you can use any (VfW) codec you've installed for output, just gives you much more options if you really want to record from webcam.
    Another thing I noticed: VDub worked even without having installed nVidia graphics driver while Sony's Cam Utility didn't (might use some accelerated video overlay mode).

    It works, thanks for your support. Sony support sucks.
