Sup!
This will be my first post on this website even thou I have been following this website for awhile!
I got a problem with my Sony Vaio SA (ID: VPCSA35GX), which has a 128GB SSD and i5 2430M.
When I started it up straight out of the box, the fan made a lot of noise. Afterwards, there was a noticeable humming in the background in both stamina and speed mode. I updated the BOIS and still same issue. The humming noise of the fan is pretty annoying, I got to admit. I was wondering is this an isolated problem or a common problem with a Sony SA having an Intel i5 2430.
I'm thinking of returning it. What do you feel?
In advance, thank you a bunch!

Make sure your using bios version R2085H4 fixed it for me.

Mine did it too...almost all the time, if it makes you feel any better. Aside from updating the BIOS which you say you've already done I don't know of anything else. I would consider returning it if I were you!

You can quite down the fan noise a little bit, by going in to VAIO Control Centre > Powermanagement > Silent mode;
Dunno if it will stop the humming, but it lessens considerably the fan activity when non needed. -
Just returned it. Couldn't stand the humming noise. Spend $1249 on that notebook and it has an annoying fan sound. Just ordered an HP Envy,Beats with coupon and it was $850! If it makes fan sound, I can deal with it. I'm not breaking an arm and leg for it!
