    I have a Sony Vaio PCG FCA36.

When the system starts up, I get a message that says fash.exe failed to start because MFC70.DLL was not found. If I try to go on Earthlink or AOL, I get a message that says

Shut down initiated by NT AuthoritySystem

    cwindowssystem32lsass.exe termineted unexpectedly

    status code - 1073741819

I've always had trouble staying online anyway, but this is a new message. Does anyone have any knowledge of what is happening here?

    Thanks,
    Cindy

From what I can find on the net, you probably have some type of spyware in your system. The filename (fash.exe) is associated with spyware and the same exact error message you've been recieving. I didn't go through all of the messages to see what particular spybot got you, but that's what it seems. If google 'fash.exe', you'll find some info. I'd suggest running something like AdAware.

I did check out some of the emails regarding this. They suggest restarting in safemode and running adaware and some other anti-spyware programs. Do you know how I run in safemode? I don't know what they mean by this.

    Thanks,
    C Ryan
