as title said, I've used linux on my vaio vgn-485b but now I need to get back to win and I've installed it on partition. the problem now is that when I try to install the drivers (starting with the Bios files, sony shared library etc..) I've got weird messages like 'impossible to read the data system' or 'shared libary not installed' when I try to install the shared library...
unfortunately I don't have the recovery dvd. so what can I do?

Have you tried searching for the drivers on Sony ESupport website ?
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=DRIVER -
I took the official Vaio Drivers from the other Vaio site as this one doesn't have my model. but nothing, they just don't work....
google doesn't help much I found this only http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.co...lease-help-me-problems-drivers-sony-vaio.html
don't know what to do. basically without the recovery dvd seems to be impossible to get the video hardware working properly. -
I would try out drivermax. You can download two drivers a day without paying. It is a nice program because during the instill it asks if you want to do a backup and of course you choose this option every time. I always research each driver and if I decide to try it out I choose backup during install.

I've just solved it, did a mistake the first time but now following the right order everything it's fine.
