    Hi there,

I bought a new Sony Vaio CR42s/w in October.
For some reason, when I charge the battery to 100%, when I turn it on, the battery runs down to 85% in about 10 minutes of normal use (web browsing.) It does the same thing when charging to 80%, running down to 65% within 10 minutes.

In total, it lasts 3 hours or so wi-fi off, min. brightness, just word processing.
2 hours of web browsing with med. brightness.
about 1.5 hours watching a DVD on AV mode.

How long does the battery on your CR last for. (NOTE, mine has ATI X2300 graphics, so this may drain the battery somewhat.)

However, I compromised on the screen and went for 14.1 inch, as opposed to 15.4 inch. This was as I expected battery to be considerably better than a 15.4 inch.

Also, the PC makes a buzzing/whirring noise audible if you put your head on the chassis - is this normal??

    Thanks for any help.
