    Greetings,

I just picked up my new Vaio VGN-NS190J last night. This morning I d/led CS4 from the Adobe site (I already have it installed on my desktop) and have tried SEVERAL times to get it to install without success. Once the installer unpacks the files, and I run the setup, it hangs up. The install program stops responding and shuts down.

Is this a known issue? Any fixes?

Yes - 64 bit. But it installed fine on my Vista 64 bit desktop.

I am not debating the x64 platform. CS4 runs better on x64 than x86. What other Adobe do you have on your laptop? Are there any clashes? Photoshop is very sensitive to stuff like this. The folder Adobe Common is also very picky.

Only Adobe reader - I just bought the laptop so there's not much installed on it. Are you suggesting that using a different installation directory might help?

No. Can you attach a screenshot ? I would like to see exactly what happens. I've had my share of errors with Adobe Products...

Have you ever had IE "hang" and you get the error "This application has stopped responding?" That's the same sort of thing that happens toward the end of the installation - it shuts down the installation program at that point.

I've re-downloaded the install image, tried uninstalling it and re-running the installation...same thing happens every time.

Try running the installer as administrator?
Right click and an option should be there

The installer needs to run as an admin by default.
